About Program

The CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating is a nationally recognised qualification designed for people who want to start a career in the painting and decorating industry. This course provides students with the practical skills and industry knowledge needed to work safely and confidently on residential and commercial projects.

Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.

Licensing: Licensing, legislative and regulatory or certification requirements for painting and decorating work differ between States and Territories. Please consult with the relevant regulatory authority

Entry Requirements

The CPC30620 – Certificate III in Painting and Decorating allows direct entry into this qualification at the time of publication in training.gov.au. However, the Innoverse Institute requires candidates to meet its admission requirements prior to enrolling into this qualification to ensure that they have the required skills and knowledge to successfully complete the qualification at this AQF level. This consists of:

Evidence that they have studied in English for at least five years in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom or United States

Evidence that, within two years of their application date, they have successfully completed in Australia a foundation course or a senior secondary certificate of education or successfully completed substantial components (50% or more units according to the training package) Certificate IV or higher level qualification, from the Australian Qualifications Framework on a student visa.

OR

Applicants originating from students visa assessment levels 1 and 2 countries without the required IELTS or equivalent score must undertake the Language, Literacy, Numeracy (LLN) Digital (D) literacy test. For further information on student visa assessment levels visit Department of Home Affairs’ website at www.homeaffairs.gov.au.

Applicants must undertake English Placement Test on campus

All International Students (onshore and offshore)

All international students are required to complete a Pre-Training Review, including an LLND assessment, to identify individual training needs. This process evaluates the learner’s previous education or training, relevant work experience, and the suitability and relevance of the course to their learning goals. This assessment may be
conducted via video call or phone call for both onshore and offshore students.

Note: Students must complete CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (or equivalent) unit with another RTO before any construction site visits.
